I am from CA, have been in South Africa for 8 years, and am married to a South Africa. I am very passionate about doing ministry that brings together the hope of the gospel with the holistic help of mercy ministry.
Outside of the local church I serve at, I currently lead a ministry called Butterfly Ministry. We reach out to women who work in prostitution through evangelism, discipleship, a drop-in center, and supporting them through the process of exiting the prostitution industry. As part of the Church, we seek to empower, disciple, and equip women in prostitution through a gospel-driven, relationship-based, holistic approach. We long to see women coming out of prostitution transformed by Christ and acting as agents of change as part of the Church. One can make a donation to Butterfly using the drop down menu below.
A final branch of ministry is with a South African non-profit called The Zoe Project, who I have been with for 6 years now. Through them, I counsel pregnant woman coming through the local government hospitals. I am often able to bring my faith into these counseling opportunities and share the gospel with ladies as well as pray over them. I also teach prenatal classes to teenagers in the area. I have had the privilege to walk with women through circumstances of abuse, unemployment, miscarriage, trauma, and grief among other things–and see them come through the other side.
