GoodSports Ukraine is being obedient to God’s call to work with children, young adults, and their families in a War Zone. We do in partnership with the local church. Sports provide a space for “grounding or normalcy” in a time of chaos. On the pitch and fields, it is a place where children and their families can forget about drones and hypersonic missiles. To remain relevant in this conflict, GSI Ukraine also supports first aid training, including tourniquet training, for children, police officers, and soldiers. Adaptive sports, for Ukrainian Wounded Amputee soldiers, have also emerged as a new aspect for GSI Ukraine. In this tremendous time of loss, GSI Ukraine is incorporating trauma therapy 1st Aid for coaches who encounter a child who has been “triggered” or a church member who encounters neighbors who have suffered the loss of a loved one. “Not only do we share the gospel, we share our very lives.” 1 Thessalonians 2:8
