Northwest Youth Ministry Development exists to equip youth leaders in rural churches in the Inland Northwest to grow healthy, disciple-making ministries. The vision is to see a generation of youth raised up who deeply love God, actively love people, and make disciples at home and around the world. We come alongside youth leaders to help them find their footing in a very fast paced and changing ministry by providing:
Youth ministry philosophy and strategy modeled on the ministry of
- Bible-centered content focused on needs specific to students
- Training in discussion-based teaching and educational theory
- A proven approach to getting youth into the Word of God
“Cheryl and I were youth interns in Bill and Bobbie Trenkmann’s youth ministry in Spokane, Washington, soon after we married in 1988. Serving with the Trenckmann’s changed the trajectory of my life. I was so impressed with what Bill and Bobbie were doing with students that I answered God’s call to do the same thing. After completing a Masters of Arts in Pastoral Studies at Multnomah Seminary in 1991, I spent the next 24 years in full-time youth ministry, a most fulfilling career.
Bill and Bobbie invited me to be involved in their ministry again in 2016. I truly believe this is what God wants me to do next: come alongside volunteer youth leaders in small, rural churches, to encourage, train, pray with and equip them to grow healthy, disciple-making ministries. Please prayerfully consider partnering with me and NWYMD to help raise up a generation of young youth leaders who love God, love others and are making disciples who make disciples.”
